You can also book a guide at the last minute using the Meetrip app. Find available guides nearby using geolocation, check their availability and book a guide - then all you have to do is meet your guide and set off on your tour.
We chose the company name ‘Meetrip’, a play on words of “meet” and “trip”, to reflect the objective of our site: to offer our clients more than just a guided tour, but the opportunity to discover and experience another country and culture with a passionate and knowledgeable guide to help you make the most out of your visit.

When you begin a search on our site, you will be asked whether you are looking for a guide or a guided tour. Here is the difference between the two:
Our guides are professionally qualified in line with the legal requirements in their country and conduct tours on themes such as history, art, architecture, hiking, climbing fishing, and many more. For a personalised and flexible tour, book a guiding service by the hour; meet your guide and choose a theme for your tour there and then depending on what you feel like doing. You can book directly from the guide’s profile.
There are two different types of guided tours offered on our site: Tours organised by guides: you can access these directly using the guided tour search tool or from a guide’s profile in the “Guided Tours” section. Tours organised and publicised on the site by tourist organisations (e.g. gastronomic, sport or adventure): you can access these by simply searching an guided tour on our welcome page. You can book on the page for your chosen guided tour.
You have three options when booking a tour:
Book a place on a guided tour: this will be as part of a mixed group of other visitors who have booked onto the same guided tour. The number of available places is shown in the guided tour description.
Book a group guided tour: these tours have a fixed group rate and are designed for visitors looking to do a guided tour in a private group (e.g. family outings, business and school trips). The maximum and minimum number of participants for a guided tour is shown in the guided tour description.
Book a guide by the hour: you can also do guided tours with guides offering personalised services by the hour. In this case, the guided tour is completely adaptable to your personal preferences - you simply choose your theme on location, depending on what you feel like doing.
To offer a tour or guided tour as a gift, click “Book As Gift” either on the page for the guided tour or on the profile of the guide offering it. You can then fill in the details of the recipient and send your gift either by email or in person.
No problem. Book quickly and easily at the last minute with the Meetrip app: with its geolocation functionality, you can find an available guide or tour nearby, and book them straight away. Once you’ve paid, meet the guide and set off on your trip.
Registration and access to Meetrip.com is completely free. To create an account, go to: www.meetrip.com and click “Sign up”. You will then be able to choose between connecting with us through your Facebook, Google Plus or email account. Then simply choose a username, enter your email address and password, and re-enter your password to confirm. You will then receive a confirmation email to let you know that your registration has been successful.
To change your password, simply sign into your account and choose a new password in the “My Details” section. You can also change your email or postal address at any time.
Although you can search the range of tours and guided tours offered on Meetrip.com without having registered, you have to be registered to make a booking.
Just go to our welcome page at www.meetrip.com and enter your destination, arrival and departure dates into the search bar. You can then refine your search by theme, price and preferred language. On the app, you can choose your geographical position and find all the guides and tours in that area.
Just sign into your account and click either “Book This Guide” if you are on a guide’s profile or “Book This Guided Tour” if you are on a page for a guided tour. Then choose the date, time, meeting place (in the case of a guided tour) and proceed to payment. On the app, you can choose, book and pay for a guide by the hour and meet them for a tour in a matter of minutes!
Whether you have booked a guided tour on Meetrip.com or on the app, you will receive an email confirming your booking. All that is left to do then is to get to the meeting place on the date of your guided tour, and off you go. The same applies if you have booked a guide by the hour on the site. However, if you have booked a guide through the app, simply wait for the guide to come and meet you.
After completing your tour or guided tour, you can leave a review of the service you received. If you enjoyed your tour or guided tour, let us know - this can help future visitors find the tours best for them. If you had any problems with your guide or tour, leave a comment or write to us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can cancel up to W-1 and be refunded 100% of the service price, minus a 5% charge deducted for Meetrip’s expenses.
If you cancel between D-2 and W-1, there is a 25% cancellation charge, but you will be reimbursed the remaining 75% of the service price. Please note that in these 2 cases, the guide can request that you reimburse them for their expenses regarding your booking (e.g. museum tickets). From D-2, you are no longer able to cancel your booking and will have to pay 100% of the service price. Even if you are unable to attend, the transaction will still go through as if the service had taken place. You can view your current and previous bookings in the “My Bookings” section of your Meetrip account.
If the guide cancels your tour, you will receive a full refund.
We ask all guides who register with us to provide proof of identity and of their professional qualification as a guide. We also provide them with a set of guidelines to follow in order to provide a high-quality service. We also have a comments system by which customers can review guides’ services after having completed a tour.
Your comments are vital to Meetrip maintaining its high quality service. After each tour, you can leave a comment and rate the guide or tour that you booked using our compass ranking system. This system can help other visitors choose the best guide or tour for them and ensure that Meetrip continues to offer a high-quality service. Because after all, who knows better than you? At Meetrip, we do all we can to ensure that you have a great holiday experience and our services fulfill your expectations. Meetrip acts as an intermediary between guides and visitors, and manages the payment and billing process. We ask you to pay the full service price at the time of booking. The transaction is then blocked on a secure account. The guide is paid in full once the service has been carried out, as long as the client has not informed us of a problem during the tour or tour. Meetrip strives to make your life easier and to ensure you have a great holiday experience. We use the online payment platforms PayPal and MangoPay, which are professional secure payment systems used by clients such as Lafourchette, Ulule and My Major Company. Once the payment has been carried out, everything else is taken care of for you.
You can pay with a credit card or by Paypal.
No, you just have to pay the price shown when you make your booking - there are no unpleasant surprises.
